The evil sins of JPEG.

DO NOT use JPG for screenshots or anything that's not a PHOTO of the real world.
Causes major ugliness. Use PNG, BMP(then zip/rar) or any loseless compression. Works well for screenshots especially since there's alot of flat colors. Even if ur background is a picture of a hot babe, spare screenshots viewers the agony of seeing the dirt that gets spread around all the text.


On using Word properly, tag your headers as Heading 1/2/3, normal text as Normal, and you can create more. Something like how CSS works. So you can change all headers to use a certain font/style/color, without going through the whole document and changing them. Provides a "free" Table of Content generator too when used properly.

Structure based documents, not presentation based. (name drops, LaTeX, HTML, SGML, DocBook etc...)
